The Huron Perth Lakers AAA Major Bantams came off a 3 week layoff in Pavilion league playoff action and promptly got down to business in a convincing 6 – 1 win over the Hamilton Reps on Saturday, February 3, 2012 at the St Mary’s arena.

In 1st period action the Lakers scored early and often, capitalizing on the power play to set up a 4 – 0 lead over Hamilton on goals by Jamie Huber, Nathan Smith, Blake Nichol and Kenny Huether, assisted by Cullen Mercer, Zack Jacobs, Mitch Kellington, Kenny Huether and Jamie Huber with 2.

Hamilton would score a lone goal in the 2nd, with the Lakers responding in kind on goals by Blake Nichol and Cullen Mercer, assisted by Kenny Huether and Trent Dundas to close out the 2nd at 6 – 1 for the Lakers.

The 3rd period declined into absolute chaos as the officials were out of their element and failed to control the on ice play.
