Minor Atom Lakers win one of three
The Minor Atom Lakers traveled to Essex on Saturday afternoon to take on the first place Sun County Panthers to kick off a busy weekend. The Lakers turned in a very solid effort in the first but found themselves down a goal due to a power play goal by the Panthers midway through the first.  The Lakers continued with a good effort and strong play but came up short as the Lakers fell 1-0 to the Panthers sending the Lakers into Sunday looking for a win.  Sunday, the Lakers found themselves in Windsor looking to turn the weekend around. From the start of the game it was clear

the Lakers did not have any legs or jump to their game as Windsor handed the Lakers a 5-0 beating and sending the Lakers later that day to Chatham- Kent for a 5:30pm start winless. The third and final game of the road trip had the Lakers come out very strong but still found themselves down 2-1 after 1.  The Lakers continued their strong play and were rewarded late in the third with a power play goal of their own, and then added an empty netter salvaging the weekend with the win. Next weekend the Lakers travel to Buffalo for a tournament and to go with it, their first outdoor hockey game Saturday afternoon.
