The Huron-Perth Lakers AAA Minor Hockey Association is in its 16th hockey season. We celebrated our Tenth Anniversary in 2005 – 2006 by making it one of the most successful season in our history as our teams ranked near the top in every division in the Alliance AAA league. The consistent competitive performance of our teams has earned us respect throughout the league and beyond. Most importantly more players and parents are recognizing that “AAA” Lakers Hockey is not only a great opportunity for player development but also an enjoyable and affordable experience.
Games:
Lakers HOME games are hosted in Goderich, St. Marys, Brussels, Palmerston and Stratford. The Lakers are a member of Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario and participate in the “AAA” Pavillion League. The league is divided into two divisions - East & West. The Lakers are a member of the East Division and usually have a schedule that sees them play three games against each of the 6 other teams in the division. The members of the division are Huron-Perth, Kitchener, Cambridge, Waterloo, London (Green), Brantford and Hamilton. The Lakers usually play a single home and away schedule with the 6 teams in the West Division which is made up of London (Gold), Elgin-Middlesex, Lambton, Chatham-Kent, Windsor and Sun County.
The Teams:
Each Huron-Perth Lakers Team has up to 5 carded officials. The staff of each team is made up of the Head Coach, Manager, Assistant Coaches and Trainers. In addition each team has a treasurer and parent representative selected by the Head Coach and/or Manager. The Team Treasurer is responsible to maintain accurate updated financial records of each individual player and ensures that payment of all team activities take place in a timely order.
