Peewee's on a Tear!
The HPL Major Peewees headed up by coach Glenn Coughlin are taking care of their own end very well. The Major Peewees are 4th overall in ALLIANCE play out of over 80 teams with a 1.2 goals against/game average and are tied for points overall in their age group with a 17-2-2 record.

Major Peewee’s Overcome Adversity to Succeed

The HPL Major Peewee’s defensive core is second to none; Jacob Ringuette, Liam Maaskant, Jeff McArdle, John McKeown and Brock Dykxhoorn have worked tirelessly to overcome the loss of Scott Coughlin (broken hand). This core's strength comes from their team play. This squad is big, mobile and skilled and has a "take no prisoners" approach. The D-Squad looks forward to Cogs return in late December. Goaltending has been a big part of the team's success with Jessie Prout and Drew Reinhardt both playing at the top of their game. Reinhardt is rolling with an amazing 4 game shutout streak. The quarterbacks are supported by a strong set of forwards: Ryan Watson, Luke Binning, Curtis Kaufman, Brady Wiffen, Ray Huether, Brandon Priestap, Shawn Moore, Nick Elliott, and Jaden Goetz. This forward core plays strong positionally, and is unmatched with their forecheck intensity. Keeping the puck 160 feet from your own net and backchecking with tenacity is a great way to keep the puck out of your net. This core has had its adversity as well, living without the highly skilled Moore for the last couple of weeks (broken foot) and will have more adversity to overcome as super quick Kaufman went down with a broken wrist in the Lakers 1-0 win over the London Knights Friday night. Head Coach Glenn Coughlin with staff Rob Wiffen, Brad Priestap, Hugo Maaskant and Rob Watson make up the HPL Major Peewee leadership team. The Major Peewee squad will fight Elgin for first this Friday night in London at the ice park ... could very well be a sneak peal at the Alliance championship this year!
