Major Peewees Become This Year's Second Lakers Team to Advance to Final
The HPL Major Peewees have advanced to the Alliance Championship joining the Major Bantams.  The Major Peewees defeated London in the Semi-Finals Sunday by a score of 4-2 to win the 6 point series 7 points to 3.

The Lakers defeated Hamilton 3 straight in Round 1 and had an extended period off with a bye before meeting the Knights in the Semi-Final.  Game 1 of the series had the Lakers with home ice advantage. The Lakers however were fortunate to get a point with a motivated London squad as they battled to a 0-0 tie. In game 2, the Lakers again faced a very motivated London squad buoyed by their home advantage and their game 1 performance and dropped the contest by a score of 3-2. The third contest, back at home, the Lakers were firing on all cylinders and soundly defeated the Knights squad 2-0. The Lakers never looked back and controlled games 4 and 5 with 4-2 wins.

The HPL Major Peewees finished first overall in the Eastern Division and 1 point back of Elgin-Middlesex for first overall during regular season play. The Lakers will face Elgin-Middlesex in the Championship in what should prove to be some terrific hockey.

The Major Peewees are proud and excited to be the second team this year to advance to the finals and with the Minor Bantams still in the hunt on the playdown side there is still a lot of great championship hockey to watch. Show up and cheer on our Lakers!
