Minor Midgets Take Game 3, Lead Series 2-1
For the first time all season, the minor midgets were able to capture a victory on the road.  And the timing couldn't have been better.  After tying the best-of-five series Friday night in Goderich, the boys headed down to Brantford for game 3 with a new sense of confidence, and came out on top by a score of 3-2.

The first two periods of this game were filled with penalties - 29 minutes worth for the 99'ers and 15 minutes for the Lakers.  Both teams were able to capitalize on their chances, with the Lakers scoring three times on the man advantage and Brantford scoring once going into intermission.  The third period was an entirely different story, with only 3 minors called during the frame.  Brantford's lone goal during the period came while five-on-five; however the Lakers controlled the play for a majority of the period.  Braden VanNynatten played another strong game in goal and picked up his second win of the playoffs.

For the past couple of games the team has been just that - a team.  Every single player on Sunday night contributed in some way to the win; even those with limited opportunities were able to excel in their specific roles.  The boys were in complete control for a majority of the game, and had several other quality scoring opportunities that would have extended their lead had it not been for a Brantford goaltender who was doing his part to try and keep his team in the game.

The team will now have to wait until Saturday for game 4 back in Brussels.  All Lakers fans available to give their support are encouraged to come on out and cheer; the puck drops at 5:00 pm.
