Minor Atoms Showing Well
The Minor Atoms End Weekend With 2 WINS.

Coming into the weekend it was time for change, and that is what the Minor Atoms did. The last time we played these two teams Waterloo won 7-1 and Brantford won 5-1 with a total of 12 goals for them and 2 goals for us. The Minor Atom Lakers took a 360 degree turn and beat both teams with a goal total of 9 for and 4 against, this is what hard work and improvement is all about.

The first game the Lakers played Waterloo with a 3-2 win. Brock Baier our (AP) goaltender saved us in the beginning of the 1st period until the team got their legs. Noah Kuno scored the 1st goal assisted by Tanner Hertel. Eric Charlebois scored the 2nd goal assisted by Tanner Hertel and Noah Kuno. Mitchell Newson scored the winner assisted by Justin Beuermann. Excellent back checking by Will Thibeault and Scott Chisholm displayed good team defence.

On Sunday, the Minor Atoms traveled to Brantford with a 6-2 win. Baily Paquette played a solid game in net with 23 shots. Noah Kuno scored the 1st goal assisted by Tanner Hertel. Will Thibeault scored the 2nd goal assisted by Jacob RookeTanner Hertel scored our next goal assisted by Noah Kuno. Q Ball Quinton Maddock took a nice wrist shot outside the blue line and put it in the left top shelf on a rush out of his own end (unassisted). Justin Beuermann scored next assisted by Mitchell Newson and Scott Chisholm on a good honest effort from their line. Kuno then scored his 2nd assisted by Tanner Hertel and Ben Derrough. Eric Charlebois did not make the score sheet but did the small things that contributed to his line for a sucessfull weekend - really shows how you can be great player but not get on the score sheet. Cody Treble played a good grinder roll on the ice which helps the team win the important battles. Our 6 defence (Bradley Kraemer, Brennan Stapleton, Evan Moorehead, Chad Treble, Ben Derrough, and Quinton Maddock) handled the pressure better with great communication as well as making some nice end to end rushes with the puck. Great job, Boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
