Tired Major Bantam Squad Suffers a 6-1 Defeat to Waterloo
Maybe it was the weeknight game or maybe there were just tired, but the Major Bantam Lakers couldn't get it going on Tuesday evening in Palmerston and fell 6-1 to the Waterloo Wolves.

The Lakers fell behind early giving up a trio of goals (even-handed, power play, and short-handed against) in the first 5 minutes. Things settled down after that and for the remainder of the first and almost the entire second period neither team scored. Waterloo scored with just a few seconds to go in the second period to go up 4-0.

The Wolves added a pair of goals in the first half of the third period. The Lakers were able to get a power play goal late in the game to spoil the Waterloo goalie’s shut-out bid. The lone Laker goal came after the rebound from a Kyle Sippell shot came out to PJ Conlon on the far side of the net. Conlon flipped the puck into the back of the net knowing that one goal in the last minute of the game wasn’t going to change the outcome (see video below).

The Lakers will now put this game behind them as prepare for the Waterloo Gold Puck Tournament this weekend. The list of the Lakers’ tournament games can be found by clicking here.
