The 99 Atom Lakers went 1-1 on the weekend with wins over the Chatham-Kent Cyclones and a loss to the Hamilton Reps.
The Lakers exhibited good team play and moved the puck well as they defeated Chatham 4-1 in an exciting fast paced game against the improving Cyclones.
Ashton Stockie scored twice to lead the Lakers while
Dillon Weinheimer and
Noah Kuno added singles to pace the attack.
Will Thibeault,
Justin Beuermann,
Mitchell Newson and Kuno added assists.
Bradley Kraemer and
Hunter James played well on the blueline while
Brock Baier was strong in goal for the Lakers.
Unfortunately things changed Sunday as the Lakers fell victim to the hard work and excellent team play of the Hamilton Reps in a 5-1 loss.
Jacob Rooke was the lone goal scorer for the Lakers finishing off a nice play with assists going to
Kade Landry and Noah Kuno.
Carter Collinson played hard for the Lakers up front while
Brett Denny and
Evan Moorehead stood out defensively.
Baily Paquette played well in goal.
