The 99 Major Atom Lakers lost 6-3 to the Brantford on the weekend. A tenacious 99er club out battled and outworked the Lakers on route to the victory.
The Lakers started slow and soon found themselves down 4-0 before
Justin Beuermann put the Lakers on the scoreboard as he converted a
Bradley Kraemer pass. The Lakers stabilized after the rocky start as the team exchanged goals with
Jacob Rooke scoring unassisted and
Mitchell Newson scoring from
Ben Derrough to make the final 6-3 for Brantford.
Carter Collinson and
Kade Landry had strong games for the Lakers and
Baily Paquette played well in the Lakers goal despite the score. The team had a couple good practices this week in preparation for the Preston Tournament as they hope to regain momentum heading into the playoffs.
