Minor Atom Weekend Playoff Action
The Minor Atoms started their round robin series with a disappointing 5-2 loss to London Jr Knights Green and an overtime win against the Kitchener Rangers this weekend.
The Lakers struggled to clear the puck or gain any significant offensive momentum against London Friday night. Scoring for the Lakers were Brady Hinz and Trevor Donaldson with assists going to William Chisholm, Bayden Parent & Sam Tindall. The Knights would outplay the Lakers and take the 5-2 win.
The Lakers hosted the Kitchener Rangers Sunday afternoon. The two teams traded scoring opportunities throughout the game and after 3 periods the score was tied 3-3. It would take less than 30 seconds into OT when Bayden Parent found the back of the twine with the helper going to Hinz. Michael Boyle, Evan Dowd & Kaleb Pearson would tally the other goals with assists going to Colton Atkins and Dowd. Lakers netminder Riley Deline made many outstanding saves and earned the win in net. Way to go Lakers!!
