Minor Atoms Back to League Play with a Win over Brantford
After a good week at the tournament the Minor Atom Lakers returned to league play on Sunday vs the Brantford 99'ers which saw the Lakers hang on for the victory.

Brantford would score 1st in this match but Joshua Zelek would tie the game at the 5:33 mark assisted by Kyle Stanbury and Reid Campbell. Brantford would regain the lead 2-1 before the end of the 1st and then take a 2 goal lead at 14:38 of the 2nd. The Lakers would get another one when Carter McLlwain passed the puck to Joseph Serpa in front who put it past the 99'ers' goalie. Then, with 7:34 left in the 2nd, Braeden Burdett would tie the game 3-3 on a great individual effort, unassisted.

Heading into the 3rd notted at 3, Sam Dupuis would score after great puck movement up the ice by Sheldon Pryce, to Carter McLlwain, to Sam for the goal to put the boys up 4-3. Just 15 seconds later Brantford would tie the game at 4. At 7:02, Kyle Stanbury would give us the lead again with Sheldon Pryce and Maxim Mulder earning assists. Carter McLlwain would score 1 more for the Lakers assisted by Reid Campbell and Braeden Burdett, to give the Lakers a 6-4 lead and the win.

Bobby McLachlan held down the fort between the pipes for this one!

Wasn't a pretty win by any means but we will take it! Rematch with Brantford will happen next Saturday in Brantford.
