Let the Playoffs begin!
The Minor Peewee Lakers have a great deal to be proud of in their regular season, finishing the regular season schedule with an overall 33-15-11 record which includes a 19-9-4 record for regular season games.

Not only did the Lakers have a great regular season but they also worked hard in tournament play.

Regular Season Highlights:
The Lakers fought hard in 4 tournaments:  Tim Hortons International in Hamilton, Wally Beavis Memorial in Peterborough, Kitchener Blueline Tournament and the Festival of Lights in Niagara Falls.  In three of the tournaments the Lakers came home with shiny silver medals, and narrowly missed their opportunity at bringing home additional hardware in the forth tournament....although they did beat the team that went on to win the tournament...what an incredible accomplishment.

In recent weeks the Lakers have challenged some of the best hockey players out there in Ontario and continue to fine tune their own knowledge and skill of the game.

One of the highlights of the season was their win over the Waterloo Wolves on February 4, 2012.  Beating the 5th ranked team in Ontario was a tremendous feat and confidence boost for the 2000 team as the Wolves were undefeated in regular play.  The Lakers did not disappoint in entertaining the fans in the stands!

Last weekend the Lakers fell to the Cambridge Hawks 2-1 and tied the Brantford 99ers 1-1.

The Lakers success secured them second place in the Alliance Pavilion East Division, falling short only to the Waterloo Wolves.  The Lakers now enter a series against Brantford.

The Lakers will need to continue to battle hard against the boards and move the puck fluently in order to move on to the next round.  Team work will need to be the focus.

The Lakers will host the first game against Brantford in St. Mary's today, February 18, 2012 at 6pm.

LET'S GO LAKERS!
