Major Atom Lakers Get First 2 Points of the Regular Season with Win Over Kitchener Rangers
The Major Atom Lakers rolled into Kitchener on Sunday morning with a task at hand. With a much improved effort over the week before,  it was all about special teams this day.  Backed by solid goaltending (Kintz), the Major Atoms capitalized on the man advantage 4 times along with one short-handed helper.

The Lakers took the early lead on a PP goal by Leis, however the Jr. Rangers quickly evened things up before the end of the 1st period.   Schooley gave the Lakers the lead early in the second as he walked out of the corner and blew a hard low shot past he goalie.  Shortly after the Lakers added another.  Down a man, in a demonstration of pure effort and grit, the hard work of forwards Hotson & Teale paid off as Teale drove the net and slid one home to put up the Lakers 3-1.  This appeared to take the wind out of the oppositions sails as the Lakers added another 3 tallies and the Laker defense kept the shots on goal to a minimum.   McCann and Teal both added powerplay markers and Weber finished off the scoring. Final score Lakers 6 - 1.  Adding assists were Weber (2), Schooley, Pryce, Wideman, and Gaylor.
