Another Big Weekend

Major Atoms start another big weekend playing divisional rival Brantford tonight in St.Marys at 6pm, and on the road Sunday in Waterloo at 12 noon Rim park. But last weekend the boys played 3 games in 3 days.

Friday night they came out flying scoring three times, off the sticks of Jackson McLlwain, Tanner Dietz, and Jack Steccho, in the first eight minutes to build the early lead, only to watch Hamilton respond with three before the end of the period to tie the game.
After a scoreless second period, late in the third Camden Daigle scored the winner to give the Lakers the win, and Kyle Powers recorded the win in goal playing two solid periods , coming on in relief. Luke Gaylor added a pair of assists, Patrick Holloway 3, Wade Robinson, Luke DeVries, and Dietz had singles.
Next afternoon in Milverton , to take on London, the Lakers dropped a lackluster 6-3 defeat. Holloway, Daigle, and Cole Melady scored in the loss.
The next day at the Kitchener Auditorium, to face the undefeated Kitchener Rangers , the team played a strong game from start to finish, garnering one of there most complete efforts of the season, but surrendered a goal with 2:11 remaining to lose 2-1. Dietz scored the lone goal at the end of the second period to tie the game, but the team could not finish off any of there scoring chances in the third period .
Two divisional games vs second place Brantford, and fourth place Waterloo Wolves will be a couple more highly competitive matchups this weekend.
