Minor Peewees Playing Well in the New Year
Written by Ron Pryce

The Minor Peewees started off the New Year with a win over the Kitchener Jr. Rangers, and then even though it was followed by a loss to Hamilton the boys put back to back wins together over the Chatham Cyclones and Sarnia Sting.

The Kitchener game would see Zac McCann with 2 goals and an assist, Kayden Schooley with 1 goal and 2 assists, Tyler Hotson with 1 goal, and from the back end Cal Ferguson with a goal  and Tate Gaylor 2 assists winning this match 5–2.

Then a big win over the Chatham Kent Cyclones on goals from Kaden Hoggarth assisted by Jack Robinson,  Tyler Hotson from Schooley, and Sheldon Pryce from Eric Roes.  Dylan Kints was solid in net holding the Cyclones to just 1 goal.  Great job by the whole team!!

The Sarnia Sting came to town prepared for a battle but the Lakers would hang on for a much needed 5–3 victory. McCann opened the scoring at 5:05 of the first  sniping one top shelf, assisted by Schooley and Dakota Coultes.  Then 20 seconds later Hotson  put one home assisted by Schooley and McCann. Into the 2nd  up 2 to 1, Hoggarth  ripped one in off the post assisted by Coleson Fischer.  Heading into the 3rd with a 3–2 lead, Pryce would score assisted by Blake Boreham  to regain a 2 goal lead .  Sarnia would keep fighting back getting another goal of their own to make it 4–3 with 4:00 minutes to go. Then at 1:22 on the power play, Pryce scored  from McCann and Hotson to put this one away! Hardy Westman did his job between the pipes in this match and a good solid effort all around.

Good job boys, keep the streak alive against the Rangers and 99ers!!!
