Minor Atom Lakers take control of second place
The Minor Atom Lakers had a three game weekend and took home five of a possible six points to take sole possession of second place in the East division.  Friday night the Lakers traveled to first place Kitchener and the game did not disappoint as Kitchener scored with five minutes left in the third to take the lead.  With a Jr. Ranger in the box and the Laker goalie on the bench, the Lakers were able to finally beat the Ranger goalie and tie the game with 34 seconds left to send the teams home with a point. Saturday the Lakers hosted Waterloo, which was a very fast paced game with good chances at both ends. Both teams were knotted

at one after two.  In the third the Lakers took the lead on an even strength goal mid way through the third and hung on for a 2-1 win and control of second place.  The Lakers hosted Hamilton to round out the busy weekend on Sunday and again team defence came through as the Lakers brought home a 1-0 win in a penalty filled affair.  The Lakers broke the deadlock in the third, with 8 minutes to go and held off the Huskies to cap off a very busy and successful weekend for a hard working group. The Minor Atom Lakers host Kitchener on Thursday in Milverton then travel to Hamilton on Saturday looking to keep control of second place in the East division.
