Tim Talylor Heads the 2015/16 Major Midgets
The Huron Perth Lakers Organization is proud to announce Tim Taylor has volunteered to help build our Huron Perth Lakers Jr. Culliton’s Midget Program and set new standards for Midget Player Development in our region.  As the Head of Lakers Midget Hockey Player Development and Operations, Tim will work with Coaching Staff and Players from the Selection process, Strength Training and League Play Evaluation to ensure our program provides the team and player every opportunity to be successful in their pursuit of NEXT LEVEL hockey.Tim's dedicated coaching staff will see Reuben Smith (Stratford) returning as Head Coach as well as returning Assistant Coach Tyler Tolton(Mitchell). Joining Huron Perth Midget hockey this season is Assistant Coach Kyle Wilhelm(Tavistock). 

Since 2011 Tim has been Director of Player Development for the St Louis Blues’ Professional Hockey Club and has been responsible for the oversight and development progress for Blues’ Prospect Players at various levels of elite hockey all over the world. Tim’s ability to identify and develop elite players for next level hockey will play an integral role in the development of our own midget program going forward. Under Tim’s guidance HPL Midget Players will have access to some of the most relevant hockey advice and guidance as they pursue their goals. Tim will expect only the highest level of commitment and performance from the coaching staff and players throughout the season.


Taylor joined the Blues after retiring from the National Hockey League (NHL) following the 2007-08 season from a 13-year career which included stints with Detroit, Boston, the New York Rangers and Tampa Bay where he was named the franchise’s eighth captain in September of 2006. 

The Stratford, Ontario native appeared in 746 regular season games during his career recording 167 points (73 goals, 94 assists) and 433 penalty minutes as well as 89 playoff games tallying 14 points (two goals, 12 assists) and serving 73 penalty minutes. Taylor is a two-time Stanley Cup Champion winning with both Detroit in 1997 and Tampa Bay in 2004
