Minor Midgets Win One, Lose One
After a busy week of practice, the Huron-Perth Minor Midget Lakers were back in action on Friday night when they traveled to Hamilton to take on the Huskies.

The boys were looking to improve upon their .500 record and begin to build some momentum.  The Laker boys played a great first period and established a good forecheck early on.  The Lakers took a 2-0 lead in the first, only to surrender it early in the second.

The boys would regain the lead with another goal before the horn ended the period. The third period saw the Lakers score two more, to take a 5-2 lead. The Huskies refused to go away and managed to pull within two. Hamilton gained a 2-man advantage with four and a half minutes left in the third, but the Laker boys managed to kill it off as well as a late push with the goalie out. The Lakers took the contest 5-3.  Five different goal scorers for the Lakers included Pryce, Wideman, Hoggart, Lee and Leis. Golley earned the win in goal.

Monday night had the boys back in action in London against the Jr. Knights. First year Laker forward Jack Becker notched his first goal of the year and Sheldon Pryce scored as well to stake Huron Perth to get another early 2-0 lead. Despite the good start, it was the Knights who claimed victory in a lopsided fashion.

Time to regroup, get back to practice in preparation for the Wendy Dufton tournament back in London next weekend.
