Players from 7 different Home Centres, 6 of which have populations of less then 8,000 people, make up this years
Huron Perth Lakers team.
With several new players joining the squad this year, the Lakers knew success wasnt going to be quick or easy. But the team embrassed and the accepted the challenge.
The Lakers had some major team accomplishments this season. After 3 previous seasons, the team finally beat League Rival Elgin Middlesex Chiefs and reached the Final of 1 tournament, while being edged out in the Semi's of 2 others.
After falling to the London Jr Knights in the Alliance Playdowns, the Lakers took out their frustration on Brantford, sweeping the 99'ers in 3 games in the Playoff round, while outscoring them 23-2. In the Semi-Final, the Lakers battled Cambridge 3 hard games but fell short in their bid to reach the final.
With time on their hands, planning and preparation for the All Ontario Peewee 'AAA' Championship was in full swing. With the teams decided and all the work complete to ensure an amazing event, the Lakers looked to get a competitive edge and their game legs back. So they invited the London Jr Knights to play 2 exhibition games that resulted in both games ending in a tie.
The Lakers look to be the perfect Host for the event. But on the ice with the game on the line, Huron Perth has saved the best for last!
