From 7 to 4- The Best is yet to Come
After 4 days & 21 games of intense action, we have reached the Championship Round with 4 team competing in the Semi-Finals tonight to determine the matchup in the Gold & Bronze Medal games on Saturday

It took until the completion of the last Preliminary Game on Thursday for Nickel City to claim 4th Place & setup a meeting with the Toronto Marlboros @ 8pm while the other Semi will see the 2nd Place Goucester Rangers battle the 3rd Place Kingston Jr. Frontenacs at 6pm.

The Winners of the games tonight will square off for the Gold Medal @ 2pm Saturday, with the Bronze Medal game preceeding that @ 11am.

The continuation of big crowds are expected to take in the final games on Saturday so come early!

As well, the Championship Awards Banquet was held lastnight. After a fantastic meal, the over 350 guests in attendance got the opportunity to listen to Guest Speaker David Milek, Assistant Coach with the Guelph Storm Major Jr A Team speak about practice & game preparation. St. Marys Jr B General Manager Warren Nye & Assistant Coach Jamie Baker spent hours at the arena & watched every game in their assistance to select the Championship Awards Winners for 2010. The recipients were-

Top Forward/Top Scorer – Toronto Marlboros #27 Mitchell Stephens
Top Defence – Toronto Marlboros # 7 Joshua Defarias
Top Goalie – Nickel City sons #30 Kevin Labelle
Most Sportsmanlike – Gloucester Rangers #14 Matty Foget
Championship MVP = Kingstons - #14 Cameron Blakeley 

A special award from the Lakers was added to this years Chamoionship- The Team Spirit Award. All teams were judged on their on & off ice behaviour, sportsmanship & even how clean they left their Dressing Room thoughout the course of the week.  The Winning team demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship with every player shaking  the hand of the Referees at the conclusion of each game. They earned praise on their mannerism throughout the week & Arena Staff was happy to report their Dressing Room was spotless on a daily basis. So a huge congratulations to the NWO All-Stars on winning the Team Spirit Award, reminding us all the at the end of the day its still only a game!
