O'Drowsky notches shutout in Minor Midget win
Coming off a positive performance in last weekend's London tournament, the Minor Midget Lakers looked to build off that momentum heading into Sunday's game against the Chatham-Kent Cyclones.

The Lakers came out flying at the drop of the puck & controlled the play. The Cyclones frustration showed immediately as the Lakers went to the powerplay. Some good, quick puck movement allowed Ryan Chambers to tee up the point shot which found the mesh and open the scoring. Austin Spencer & Garrett Meurs drew the assists.

Before the end of the 1st period, with the teams trading off penalties & playing 4 on 4, Mitch McIntosh made no mistake after a perfect lead pass from Dylan Lazarus to break in alone and put the Lakers up by 2. In the 2nd period, the Lakers continued the solid play, creating several solid scoring opportunities. Finally, midway through the frame, Lazarus sprung Dylan Williams up the right side for a bullet shot. The rebound landed perfectly on the stick of McIntosh for his 2nd of the game & extended the Lakers lead heading into the final period of play.

After the flood, the Lakers came out with an edge and were immediately rewarded. Finishing their checks & putting the Cyclones completely on the defensive, the Lakers created several neutral zone turnovers. Mac Nichol scooped up the loose puck & fed Meurs a breakaway pass. The shifty forward slid the puck between the pads of the Cyclones keeper to give the Lakers a 4-0 lead.

From there, Brett O'Drowsky continued his solid performance in net to preserve the victory & earn the shutout. The Lakers outshot Chatham 43-22.
