The '99 Major Atom Lakers were invited to attend the 3rd annual Canada vs USA Collision Tournament in Michigan after a Canadian Team withdrew at the last minute. Recognizing the unique opportunity presented to our team, our Staff, Parents and Executive took action. Within a very short while and after many emails and calls we were officially booked to attend this prestigious tournament.
The CanAm Collision is designed to have the top teams from Canada and the United States represent their countries in a Ryder Cup type competition for Hockey. The selection committee invited the top ranked teams as of the end of last season to participate in this competition where they are to wear sweaters representing their respective countries. The competition is a Six game competition with Canadian teams only playing USA teams and vice-versa. The event is be highlighted with the final game on Sunday to determine the winner.
