99 Major Atom Lakers Fall to Brantford
Submitted By Mark Thibeault on Monday, January 25, 2010
The 99 Major Atom Lakers lost 6-3 to the Brantford on the weekend. A tenacious 99er club out battled and outworked the Lakers on route to the victory.

The Lakers started slow and soon found themselves down 4-0 before Justin Beuermann put the Lakers on the scoreboard as he converted a Bradley Kraemer pass. The Lakers stabilized after the rocky start as the team exchanged goals with Jacob Rooke scoring unassisted and Mitchell Newson scoring from Ben Derrough to make the final 6-3 for Brantford. Carter Collinson and Kade Landry had strong games for the Lakers and Baily Paquette played well in the Lakers goal despite the score. The team had a couple good practices this week in preparation for the Preston Tournament as they hope to regain momentum heading into the playoffs.
