Welcome Tyler Canal
Tyler Canal will be joining the Minor Midget Coaching staff as Head Coach to replace Mike Carter who has stepped down due to personal reasons. We thank Mike for all he has done for our team and the Lakers and look forward to seeing him around the rink.

Tyler grew up in Thunder Bay where he played for the Thunder Bay Kings AAA program and won Kobe Cup All Ontario Championship 1999. He came to Stratford to play for the Stratford Cullitons where he played for 3 years and won the Sutherland Cup Championship in 2003. Tyler went on to play 4 years at Lake Forest College NCAA DIII where he was named captain in his Junior and  Senior years and registered 129 points in 111 games played.
Tyler returned from school and to the game on the bench coaching from 2011-2015 for the Stratford Cullitons and then as head coach for the Elmira Sugar Kings where he lead them to a Sutherland Cup title in the 2016-2017 season.
Tyler and his wife Coutney live in Stratford with their two young children and works at Orr Insurance and Investments as a Certified Financial Planner.
