The Huron Perth Lakers earned 3 of 4 points this weekend and remain second in the Pavilion Major Atom AAA East Division.
Huron Perth Lakers 2 Hamilton Reps 2
The Major Atoms tied the Hamilton Reps 2-2 Saturday afternoon in Stratford. Penalty trouble and questionable calls didn’t help the Lakers' cause. The players and coaches on both sides were clearly frustrated as there was a constant march to the penalty box. Despite outshooting the Reps 35-13, the boys were unable to find the back of the net and take the win.
Huron Perth Lakers 6 London Jr Knights 5
The Major Atoms broke the London Jr Knights' 14 game undefeated streak by taking the win in an exciting match-up Sunday afternoon in Goderich. The Knights and Lakers would trade goals throughout this match but it would be the Lakers that would put the game winning goal in with just 2 minutes left in the game. The boys would hold on to the 6-5 victory. The entire Major Atom Lakers team played a strong game and the boys’ play was a pleasure to watch.
We just have to keep working hard in practice and build our work ethic
…and keep putting pucks in the net!!
"Hockey's a funny game. You have to prove yourself, every shift, every game. It's not up to anybody else. You have to take pride in yourself." (Paul Coffey)
