The countdown is on as the Huron Perth Lakers celebrate their 15th anniversary with a golf tournament on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Mitchell Golf & Country Club. It's not too late to join in this exciting event. Read on for more information...
The Huron-Perth Lakers are proud of the fact that they have provided talented, young athletes an opportunity to play high-caliber hockey close to home in the Huron-Perth area and have seen Laker alumni go on to play at the College, University and Junior levels with a few making it to the American, European and National Hockey Leagues.
“This golf tournament is the first milestone the Lakers Hockey Club has stopped to recognize” says Kevin Nicholson, President of the Huron Perth Lakers. “We have been so focused on developing and maintaining excellence in our hockey program that we thought, we should re-connect with some of our alumni and hopefully make this an annual event”.
The day begins at 11:00 a.m. with players, alumni, coaches and parents signing-in and being served a BBQ lunch. At 1 p.m. the golfing will begin. Making it particularly exciting is the chance to win a free car to the lucky golfer who gets a “Hole in One” at Hole # 9. This car is being donated by Stockie Motors Stratford. After a relaxing afternoon out on the greens, a delicious steak or chicken dinner will follow. An entertaining evening is planned with Master of Ceremonies Scott Pettigrew giving away great prizes and awards. This inaugural event can accommodate 144 golfers and there are limited “meal only” options.
Golf or hockey items for the prize table or silent auction table are welcome and hole sponsorship is available.
