Laker Day at The Allman
Laker Day on Family Day at the Allman! What a great way to celebrate family and Hockey.

The Huron Perth Lakers were proud to host the 2nd Annual "Laker Day at the Allman" on "Family Day" while 2 of counties best Jr. B Hockey teams, Stratford's Culliton’s and the Listowel's Cyclones set the stage for what many were calling " the Battle of Perth ". The Huron Perth Lakers dedicated the game in front of a record breaking audience to our Major Midget Program.  The Huron Perth Lakers took the opportunity to recognize the players, coaches, managers that have helped our program become what it is today during the opening ceremonies.


Those recognized that day were current General Manager, Steve McIver and current coach, Nathan Herrington , Past coaches and staff, Jim Martin, Gary Marks, Vlasis Aroutzidis, Dave Schlitt, Chad Smalley, Greg Barclay, Jeff Carr, Brent Powers, and Nick Aroutzidis.  In 2006, the Huron Perth Lakers established a renewed commitment to provide Major Midget players the opportunity to develop and compete at the AAA level and help them prepare for next level hockey. After 8 years of dedication and commitment to this vision, next level hockey is a reality for many players.

This Years Laker Day at the Allman "Battle of Perth"  featured many  Laker graduate players.

Playing for Listowel , Daniel Dekoning , Blake Nichol , Ted Nichol , Kenny Huether , Derek Elliott and  Chase Duckworth  

Playing for Stratford  - Jordan Currie, Ryker Killins, Nathan Templeman, Shane O'Brien and Jeff McArdle Ethan Adair

The Huron Perth Lakers board, entire membership and player alumni, added special recognition and a sincere thank you to Nick Aroutzidis who help  found the AAA Major Midget Program. Nick dedicated much of his time, care and resources over many years to ensure our Midget program under his management was successful from its inception.  Despite numerous challenges and obstacles of building a team each year Nick continued to find ways to create opportunities for many players to play hockey at the highest level. Today Nick remains a valuable resource for guidance and support toward our midget program…..   Nick Aroutzidis was presented a vintage framed Laker sweater to hang in his office on behalf of our entire Huron Perth Organization and Alumni.

Nick thank you for your commitment and dedication to our minor hockey AAA Midget Program. Your contribution to our Organization was and will continue to be greatly appreciated by players for many years to come!
