The Huron-Perth Lakers organization is pleased to announce that Head Coach Dave Schlitt will return for a third season behind the bench of the Huron-Perth Lakers Minor Midget program.

Now entering his sixth season with the Lakers, Dave Schlitt spent three seasons with the Lakers Major Midget program, one season as its Head Coach (2011-2012) and two seasons as an Assistant Coach (2009-2010 and 2010-2011).  In his three seasons with the Lakers Major Midgets, Dave helped lead the team to its first appearance in the Alliance Hockey Championship finals (2009-2010) and two semi-final appearances.

Prior to joining the Lakers, Dave was a Head Coach for thirteen seasons at the AAA and AA levels of Waterloo Minor Hockey, including five seasons (2004-2009) as Head Coach of the Waterloo Wolves Major Midget AAA program.

Dave holds his Advanced 1 Coaching Certification in the Hockey Canada/NCCP Coaching program and is involved with Alliance Hockey as an NCCP Certification Clinic Facilitator (2003 – 2013), an Evaluator and Coach in the Under-17 program (2003 – 2012) and as the Head Coach (2013) and an Assistant Coach (2010) of the Under-16 program.

In addition to his duties with the Lakers, Dave is also the Recruiting Coordinator for the University of Waterloo Warriors Men’s Hockey program where he assists in identifying, scouting and recruiting potential student-athletes for the Warriors hockey program.

Dave has also been recently appointed by the Ontario Under 17/16 Program Policy Committee as Assistant Coach of 2015 Team Ontario that will participate in the 2015 Canada Winter Games taking place February 13-March 1, 2015 in Prince George, BC.

If you have any questions regarding the Minor Midget Program, please contact Dave at [email protected].
