Coach Ballantyne's Philosophy

What are your expectation for attendance, arrival times and dress code for games and practices?

I will expect all players to be at games 1 hour before games and 30 minutes before practices.  Players will be notified to arrive earlier on certain dates to be decided later for dry land or video etc.  Game day dress code is in full effect (shirt, tie, pants, shoes and Laker coat)  Shirt and tie colour is your choice, but pants and shoes must be black.

How do you plan to distribute ice time?

I believe in rolling three lines as long as possible and as often as possible.  However, on some occasions during close games etc, I will not hesitate to shorten the bench.

What is your approach to team and individual discipline?

All players will be expected to meet the high standards of the Lakers Organization.  Sportsmanship, discipline and respect towards all is expected.  Failure to do so could result in loss of ice time.  I expect this team to be a tight unit, every player has each others back and no one is left out.  Hockey is about fun and friendships.

What initiatives, objectives and goals do you have for your team?

Our objective is to be a hard working team that never gives up--the kind that teams hate playing because of it.  Hard work, heart and buying into a system will put us near the top of the league where I plan to be.  Lastly, to give 100% in every game played.
