The 2019/2020 Minor Peewee Lakers had a great season with an overall record of 42-17-6.
They were the Alliance East Regular Season Champs. They won the Great Lakes Cup Tournament. This team wanted to take on the best. They competed in top end tournaments such as the Jr. Canadians Cup where they made it to the semifinals. They made another statement at the Vaughan Kings Classic making it through to the quarterfinals on Sunday. Two tournaments where it is so difficult to advance. Their fourth tournament was the Bauer Motown Cup competing against the best teams internationally. The Lakers finished with an impressive 3-1 record.
The players and parents make such a sacrifice for this to work and allow their boys to play at the highest level they can. Not many organizations make the same sacrifice we do but in the end it’s worth it. They were always happy to see each other, they have fun with each other, and they push each other to be better. Nothing represents this more than being part of a team that over the past 3 years has gone from a 3rd place, to a 2nd place, to a 1st place team in the Alliance East. This group has established itself as one of the best in the Alliance and that has become the expectation. Watch out for this team going forward.
