Ice Schedules
Commencing Jan/07, the official source for practice and game schedules will be the Laker website, www.huronperthlakers.ca. Special thanks to Shaun Peet (Minor Midget Coach and Micro Age Basics) for designing website including ice scheduling component.
Each team’s consolidated schedule is shown on the respective team site (click on team calendar). Additionally, an organization wide calendar shows a consolidated schedule for all teams.
For various reasons, practice and game locations and times change periodically. Please check often for updates.
Contract Ice in Stratford!
Effective December 2, the Laker organization commenced renting contract ice in Stratford. In total, eight hours will be utilized each week. The schedule is as follows:
Monday – New Pad B/Rotary 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Tuesday – Dufferin 6:30-8:00 p.m.
Thursday – New Pad B/Rotary 7:30-9:00 p.m.
Saturday – New Pad A 5:00-8:00 p.m.
Currently, the new Stratford twin pad arena is not fully complete. Pad A is able to accommodate practices and games, however Pad B may not be ready until February. The Stratford Rotary arena will be used until Pad B is ready. When the new Stratford twin pad is complete, it will serve as a primary showcase arena for the Laker organization. Please be patient with this new facility as work crews strive to complete.
Special thanks to Steve Prout, Matt McCann (Laker Executive) and Cathy Cowell (Stratford Ice Administrator) who worked behind the scenes to make this possible.
Ice Schedule for Spring Tryouts
Spring tryouts for the 2007-2008 year will be held at the Goderich MRC, Westcast Community Complex in Wingham and the new Stratford Twin Pad. A total of 63 hours will be used, spread evenly between the three arenas. The final schedule will be released in February.
Laker Teams Like the MRC!
Up to December 23, Laker teams have enjoyed the spacious surface at the Goderich MRC. Overall, Laker teams have only lost 14 times out of 39 total games. The Laker winning percentage is not as good on the smaller surfaces of Clinton and Brussels. Below is a chart showing the combined Laker record at arenas where a home game has been played.
