Minor Midgets Still in the Hunt
The HPL Minor Midgets are the lone team carrying the torch for the Lakers this season. Two teams made it to the Championship final (Major Peewee, Major Bantam) in the Alliance but neither team was fortunate enough to bring home the cup. The Minor Midgets after dropping a hard fought first round progressed to the Playoff Division and soundly defeated Brantford in the Semi-Final to advance to the Playoff Final. The Lakers are down 2-0, dropping both away matches against Sun County in the Playoff final, however Head Coach Shaun Peet feels very confident his team is in a good position to bring the series back to even this weekend with a couple of home matches. Lakers and Lovers of great hockey should attend the match ups in Goderich this weekend to view this terrific hockey and cheer on our home team. 7pm at the YMCA Saturday and 2 pm at the YMCA on Sunday. As always there is no admission to watch AAA Laker hockey!
