2009 Lakers win Tournament Championship in Ottawa
Huron Perth Lakers U13 team attended the 18th Annual Ottawa Myers Automotive AAA Shootout Tournament November 19 – 21, and came home Champions!

The team came out of round robin play 1st in their division with a record of 3-0-1

Quarter final play had the boys battle back from a 4-1 deficit against the Ottawa Valley Titans to win the
game 6-5.

Semi-final game was a match against Alliance League rivals Sun County Panthers, which ended with
a 5-4 win for the Lakers.

The Championship game against Ottawa Myers Automotive went to a shootout after ending in a 2-2 tie after regulation.  After initial three shooters, each team scored and remained tied.  The next shot was the winner - ending the game with an official score of 3-2.

It was a great team effort, all players performing to their strengths and separators. The result was well earned and the experience unforgettable, but the WORK has only started for the team as they prepare for the Quebec Peewee International Tournament, combined with a continued journey through the Alliance Season and Playoffs, and target of an OHF Cup experience.
