Ashley Fielder is a certified Massage Therapist who has been with the Huron-Perth Lakers 2008 age group for the last two years. She drives over an hour or more (often in less than ideal conditions) to practices and games assisting the team with injuries, maintenance, providing snacks, leading runs and warm ups, and setting up the bench for staff in a professional way.
The accolades for Fielder are just as long as her training resume and are a true testament to her commitment to the game.
Fielder consistently demonstrates a "team first" approach providing support ranging from injuries to equipment issues. She is often referred to as the glue that keeps the team clicking each game and never stops working -including on days without any scheduled events.
Each game, Fielder is always available to the players, assisting with warm ups and taping. On game days, the water bottles are always full and extra sticks are always on the bench. She is prepared at any moment to fix a broken helmet, to insert a new set of skate blades or attend to an injury. On multiple occasions she has even assisted opposing team trainers when injuries have occurred. She goes the extra mile with the boys and keeps the dressing room stocked with their favourite snacks.
The players look up to Ashely, respect her and as a Coach, I cannot say enough about what she does for the players, the staff, the parents and all the time she gives to the team. Her attendance is impeccable, she gives it her all and does it for all the right reasons.
Ashley is the best trainer I have ever had. She takes care of us like we are her family, and she doesn't even have a kid on our team. Besides that, she helps us with any injuries, she is also there if we need to talk about anything. She supports us, motivates us and helps us get warmed up and ready for our games both physically and mentally. If you are having a bad day, she always makes you feel better. She is very positive and brings great energy to our room. She also brings us things like rollers if we don't have one. Ashley is a very caring person and volunteers her time to come to all games and tournaments. We all think she is really amazing.
Ashley is a committed Trainer who takes her role seriously. She is ready with any type of support the boys need. She is experienced and knowledgeable which puts both players and families at ease when it comes to injuries and advice for healing. Ashley enjoys her role and has become an important part of the U16 program for Huron Perth Lakers.
Ashley is a diligent worker and professional in every way. Always has a smile on her face. Ashley treats the boys with respect, and in turn, they do the same for her.
With years of experience, Ashley has demonstrated the qualities that all teams would want in a Trainer.
Thank you for your commitment and contributions to the game Ashley, and congratulations on being named the 2024 ALLIANCE Hockey Trainer of the Year!
