Anthony Peters Heads To Kingston
October 4, 2007:  The Kingston Frontenacs acquired 17 year old Lakers Alumni goaltender, Anthony Peters, from the Oshawa Generals today in exchange for third year goalie Daryl Borden.

Also going to Oshawa was Kingston’s 5th round pick in 2008 and returning to the Frontenacs is Owen Sound's 4th round pick in 2008(which had been previously acquired by the Generals) and Oshawa’s 4th round pick in 2009.

Peters, originally drafted by Oshawa with the second selection of the third round in the 2006 OHL Priority Selection (42nd overall), split last  season between the Oshawa Generals and the Wellington Dukes in the Ontario Provincial Junior A League.

“Anthony was the second goaltender taken in the 2006 draft and is a top prospect,” said Larry Mavety, the Frontenac’s Director of Hockey Operations. “Daryl (Borden) wanted to be the #1 goalie for us and we could not guarantee him that. He then asked for a trade. We fielded a number of calls from around the League, but felt that we could not pass up this opportunity. I wish him only the best in his career.”

Anthony is brother of Albany River Rats goaltender Justin Peters (drafted by Carolina), and Minor Peewee Lakers Alex Peters. Anthony's parents, Janice and Jeff, reside in Blyth, Ontario. Jeff is currently the Goaltending Coach for the Minor Peewee Lakers.
