For the executive members that put all the work into Laker day, it was all made worthwhile seeing the smiles on the kids' faces.
Announcing the players' names while they stand on their respective blue lines, announcing goals, assists and penalties, having the stands full of fans and playing in front of their mentors and peers makes for a very special day for our athletes.
The Lakers showed their appreciation by going undefeated on Laker Day. Five ties and three wins saw the Lakers take 11 of 16 points on the day. The results were as follows
Major Atoms 4-3 win over Kitchener Rangers
Minor Atoms 2-2 with Elgin Middlesex Chiefs
Minor Peewees 2-0 win over Kitchener Rangers
Major Peewees 2-2 with Hamilton Reps
Minor Bantams 4-1 win over Waterloo Wolves
Major Bantams 4-4 tie with Chatham Kent Cyclones
Minor Midgets 4-4 tie with Elgin Middlesex Chiefs
Major Midgets 4-4 tie with Waterloo Wolves
Many thanks to Julie McConnell, Richard Gethke, Candace Chaffe, Dave Dykxhoorn, Tony Chaffe, Ben Martin, and the many others that made the day such a success!
