Full Restitution of Funds Received
As a follow-up to the article in late August of 2007 that charges had been laid against a former treasurer of our organization relating to financial irregularities during her tenure, the Executive of the Huron-Perth Lakers Hockey Association wishes to announce that full restitution of the funds in question has been made.
The issue was brought to light by new measures put in place by the Executive's Budget Review Committee.
The amount recovered, just over $32,000, relates to a period from April 2004 to March 2007 and will be placed into a reserve fund for the on-going development of Lakers hockey.
The current financial status of the Association remains strong and our hockey program continues to develop and improve as planned.
