Welcome from New Lakers President - Steve McIver
Submitted By cmetzger on Wednesday, June 4, 2008
As a new season fast approaches, I would like to extend a sincere welcome to all our members & wish the teams every success in the coming season. I would like to begin by recognizing the hard work and dedication of our players, families and volunteers who make each Lakers hockey season a successful one.

All of our teams will begin skating around August 11th, providing each team with plenty of practice time to prepare our kids for their upcoming season. In addition to the Conditioning program & Goaltending clinics being offered, we have arranged to provide organized Power Skating sessions for each team this year. As well, circle August 25th on your calendars as this will mark our 2nd Annual Lakers Orientation Day, which will take place at the brand new Pyramid Centre in St. Mary’s.

We again have a dedicated group of experienced coaches this year. Finding qualified and dedicated coaches can be challenging, but this year we again have a group of talented individuals that are volunteering countless hours to teach our kids the important values & life lessons the game of hockey provides.

We also have an amazing group of Executive Members again this year. As an organization, it is our responsibility to ensure we provide the best experience for our young high-performance athletes & we will continue to search out new ways to ensure this is accomplished. If you have any comments or suggestions, please feel free to call or email me or any other member of the board.

Let's have another great season of Lakers Hockey and make sure that our kids have fun. After all, hockey is all about the kids. If they have fun & are excited to get to the rink, then we will have achieved success!

Good luck this season & I look forward to seeing everyone at the rink.

Best regards,

Steve McIver- President
