Orientation Day Marks Return to Ice for Lakers' Teams
Monday, August 23rd marked the beginning of the fall 2010-11 season for seven of the Lakers' teams as they participated in the annual Lakers Orientation Day. The day saw Lakers' teams from Minor Atom to Minor Midget participate in a range of activities.

These activities included:
- two on-ice sessions (power skating led Kathy McLlwain and puck skills led by Dwayne Blais).
- a drugs & alcohol seminar led by Constable Wijnands of the OPP.
- a refereeing seminar led by two Alliance referees focusing on this year's emphasis on Respect and Communication.
- a team activity as chosen by the team's head coach.

In addition, throughout the day vendors were present selling Lakers Gear and Lakers equipment.

It was a great day and an excellent way for the teams to "kick into high gear" as they ramp up for the beginning of the regular season in September.
