MacSorley Advances from ALLIANCE U17 Camp
Mac MacSorley, a Laker from last season's Minor Midget team, has been selected as one of 10 players from the ALLIANCE Hockey U17 Camp held this past weekend in Woodstock.

The purpose of conducting the 2011 ALLIANCE Hockey Under 17 Camp is to identify players who may qualify for the 2011 Ontario Under 17 Camp which is being held July 6-10, 2011 in Thunder Bay. The Provincial Camp will identify exceptional players who may qualify for the Hockey Canada National Team, which participates in a variety of events including the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge.

MacSorley, along with seven other Laker team-mates, attended the ALLIANCE U17 Mini-camp last Friday. After the Mini Camp, sixty-eight players (including three Lakers: MacSorley, along with Braydon Blight and Michael Siddall) were invited to move on to the Main Camp that continued through the rest of the weekend. All three players had an excellent weekend but, with just ten spots available to move on to the Ontario Under 17 Camp, it was MacSorley who garnered the coveted selection. This is the third consecutive year that the Lakers have had a player advance to the Ontario U17 Camp (click here for the complete list of past Lakers who advanced).

Congratulations Mac on your selection and best of luck at the Ontario U17 Camp!
