The 2000 Huron Perth Laker Minor Bantams went undefeated last weekend to capture the Gold at the Markham Majors AAA Fall Classic Tournament.

The Lakers opened the tournament with a 4-2 defeat over the tournament hosts, Markham Majors, then reeled off victories against Windsor Jr. Spitfires (3-0), Ottawa Sting (5-1), Ajax-Pickering Raiders (4-2) to gain entry into the tournament Final.

In the Final, they once again faced Alliance league rival Windsor Jr. Spitfires who dominated play in the opening minutes. The Lakers withstood the early pressure, then eventually took over, earning a hard fought 4-1 championship win.
The Lakers received stellar goaltending and a balanced attack throughout the weekend in Markham.
