Lakers Welcome new Major Midget Coach
We are excited to announce Brent Rae as the head Coach of our Major Midget team.
Brent started playing hockey with the St Mary’s Minor Hockey Association before graduating to Huron Perth Lakers for four seasons. For his minor midget year he played with the Elgin Middlesex Chief’s, who won 2008 International Silver Stick. His junior hockey seasons were split between St Mary’s Lincolns, Exeter Hawks and Mitchell Hawks while attending University of Waterloo. Brent joined the varsity team Waterloo Warriors his final year of study and graduated with an Honors degree Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Brent’s love of the game has continued into senior hockey as he has been playing for the Seaforth Centenaries.
Brent has been coaching in the St Marys Minor Hockey system, instilling his philosophy of the game: that disciplined players are accountable for team success. He looks for strong work ethic on and off the ice, discipline in team systems and players being accountable when striving to meet team goals. Brent is excited to help committed players develop through the midget program as they inspire to join the Junior programs that Huron Perth Lakers has built working relationships with.
