Huron Perth Laker Banquet Speaker Announced
Submitted By Jill tenHag on Monday, March 25, 2019
Calling ALL Laker families, please join in for a night of celebration with dinner, awards and good company.  Then annual Huron Perth Laker Association banquet will be held on April 10th, 2019 at the Perth East Rec Complex (Milverton Arena).  This year, we are super excited to have Korey Jarvis as our keynote speaker.

Korey Jarvis has been representing Canada internationally since 2007 but it was in 2014 when he earned his victories, taking Gold at the City of Sassari Tournament in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.  That was his second Commonwealth Games medal, having won silver at Delhi 2010.  Jarvis competed in Greco-Roman wrestling at the 2011 Pan American Games but came up short of qualifying for the London 2012 Olympic Games in that discipline.  A three-time world championship team member, Jarvis has made six appearances at the Pan American Championships, winning six medals, including bronzes in both the freestyle and Greco-Roman disciplines in 2011.  He won silver in the 125 kg freestyle division at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto and secured his spot in Rio with a second place finish at the continental qualifier in March 2016.  In his Olympic debut at Rio 2016, Jarvis lost his first round match to the eventual silver medalist.

Hoping everyone can make it out to a great night to cap off the 2018/2019 hockey season!
