April 2, 2014 - Huron Perth Lakers announce Jared Keeso - Guest Speaker for the 18th Annual Laker Banquet

Former Huron Perth Laker alumni – Jared Keeso (who played for HPL 1998-2000) has been announced as the 18th annual Huron Perth Laker Banquet Guest Speaker.  Jared went on to play Junior B hockey for the Listowel Cyclones and the Strathroy Rockets but left hockey and university behind to follow his passion…acting!

Jared who celebrates his birthday each Canada Day was raised in Listowel, ON and has been living in Vancouver, BC for the past decade perfecting his craft.  He has had roles in the TV Shows, Smallville and Supernatural.  His breakout role was playing Don Cherry in the biographic film of legendary hockey commentator for which he won a Leo Award for “Best Male Performance in a Feature Length Drama” and a Gemini Award for “Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Dramatic Program or Mini-Series”.

Since 2010, his movie credits include Elysium starring Jodie Foster and his latest movie, Godzilla opens in theatres on April 18th.  Currently Laker families can catch him play the role of Ben Chartier on the Bravo original series 19-2, Wednesdays at 9-10 pm in which he co-stars with Adrian Holmes.

For the first time in Laker Banquet history, Jared will be speaking to the audience via a specially-prepared, pre-recorded video presentation!  Jared Keeso’s message, filled with wit and wisdom, is something every player and their family will be able to relate to, appreciate and understand!

Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Sincerely,

HP Lakers Secretary-Treasurer
