Rowan’s Law Acknowledgement

 

The Ontario Government has enacted Rowan’s Law (Concussion Safety), 2018, S.O. 2018, c. 1 (“Act”). Ontario Regulation 161/19, the Act requires all sport organizations as defined in the Regulation (“Sports Organization”), which includes the Ontario Hockey Federation (“OHF”), to have a Concussion Code of Conduct.  This Concussion Code of Conduct must require participants, as set out in the Act, to review the Ontario Government’s issued Concussion Awareness Resources on an annual basis. 

A participant is subject to a Concussion Code of Conduct for each Sports Organization a participant registers with.

The OHF Concussion Code of Conduct and the appropriate Concussion Awareness Resources must be reviewed before you can register/participate in the OHF.

Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario (“Alliance Hockey”) Games Will Be Livestreamed

This season Alliance Hockey games will be livestreamed.

Live video of Alliance Hockey games, tournaments and practices will be recorded and broadcast online.

Recording equipment at hockey games may record your image, voice and other identifying features and personal information. Your behaviour and conduct will be recorded and streamed online.

The location of recording equipment at the arena will be marked by signage. No recording equipment will be installed in areas where participants have an expectation of privacy (e.g. change rooms, washrooms, etc.).

By proceeding to submit this form and attending or participating in Alliance Hockey games and tournaments, and practices Participant (and/or Parent/Guardian) are consenting to the recording of the video recordings, which contain your personal information, and to the use of the recordings and personal information as described below.

Use of the Livestream Footage, Images and Sound

Footage or images from the livestream may be used by Alliance Hockey and/or all Alliance Hockey Sanctioned Minor Hockey Associations or their representatives for the following purposes:

  • training and education purposes, such as skill correction, analysis, etc.;
  • promotional or marketing purposes, e,g. footage or images may be used on Alliance Hockey and/or Alliance Hockey Sanctioned Minor Hockey Associations website, social media or other promotional material;
  • commercial purposes, i.e. to advance Alliance Hockey’s commercial or economic interests;
  • investigatory, complaint management or disciplinary purposes, e.g. footage or images may be used as evidence in any investigation, hearing or disciplinary process brought under Alliance Hockey and/or Ontario Hockey Federation rules and procedures; and,
  • any other purpose for which Participant (or Parent/Guardian) provide consent.

Disclosure of the Livestream Footage and Images

Footage or images from the livestream will be available publicly on the website: https://www.livebarn.com/en/. It may also be posted to the websites of Alliance Hockey and Alliance Hockey Sanctioned Minor Hockey Associations, as well as their social media platforms.

The livestream video and images will not otherwise be disclosed by Alliance Hockey or Alliance Hockey Sanctioned Minor Hockey Associations without Participant’s (or Parent/Guardian’s) consent, or if required to do so by law, a court order, a regulator, a law enforcement agency, or during legal proceedings.
