Major Atoms Reach Semi-Finals in London Tournament
The Major Atoms reached the Semi-Finals in the London Early Bird Tournament with a 3 – 1 record. After 2 weeks with no games, the Lakers were a little slow finding their game, but came away with a 3–2 win over West Seneca Wings in their 1st game.

In their 2nd game the Lakers skated to a 5–2 win over Amherst Knights where they  spotted Amherst with an early goal in the game, but came back with a great offensive attack.

In game 3 playing Ajax Pickering Raiders, the Lakers came out flying and scored early, but then had a 90 minute delay because of a power outage at the arena. After the game resumed the Lakers skated to a 6–1 win.

In game 4 of the round robin, the Lakers lost out to the eventually tournament winner, the St. Louis Amateur Blues, 6–2 but collected enough points to move into the Semi-Finals vs. London Jr. Knights.

After getting home late Saturday night because of the game delays and with the early Sunday morning semi-final game, the Lakers couldn’t find their game legs and didn’t get any bounces. Once London went ahead, the Lakers couldn’t get the offence going, eventually losing out 6–0.

The Major Atoms would like to thank the Minor Atom Lakers for the use of their trainer and a back-up goalie for the first 2 games.
