Major Midgets Back on Track
Saturday afternoon the Lakers played against the Waterloo Wolves and in the end came out with a shootout loss 5-4.  The game was penalty filled on both sides of the ice however; the Lakers team could not capitalize while on the powerplay.

The Wolves started the scoring off with a penalty shot early in the first that made its way past goaltender Hayden McLeod (Stratford). The Lakers evened the score before the end of the first period. The teams exchanged goals until the final buzzer sounded at the end of regulation with the score tied at 4-4. With one point awarded to each side, a shootout was needed to award the remaining point. In the end the Wolves came out on top with the shootout victory. Goal scorers for the Lakers were Sam Feagan (Goderich), Mitchell McIntosh (Stratford), Kurtis Lavis (Ingersoll) and Bryan McCauley (Ingersoll).  Assists were credited to Brent Kipfer (Stratford), Jerry Ennett (Stratford), McCauley, Mitchell Berzins (Ingersoll), McIntosh and Jordan Currie (Seaforth).

Sunday in Goderich the Lakers were hungry to get back into the win column and soundly defeated the Lambton Jr. Sting 6-0. The first period yielded zero goals. The second period effort was much better with the score 2-0.  The Lakers really stepped up in the third and put the Sting away with 4 goals. Goal scorers were McIntosh (2), McCauley (2), Feagan and Ryan Chambers (Teeswater). Assists went to Ennett (4), McCauley (3), Kyle Murphy (Lambeth), Cole Pellett (Bluevale), Currie and McIntosh.

Micheal Roefs (Ingersoll) played solid in goal and made key saves when needed.

The Lakers Midgets have a record of 10 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie and currently sit at the top of the league standings. Next action for the Major Midget Lakers is Saturday afternoon at the Stratford Rotary Complex against the Hamilton Reps at 3:30 pm.
