Minor PeeWees Complete Valuable Preseason Session
After 30 days, 20 plus hours of practice time and communication focused on a hockey culture that promotes discipline, respect and a commitment to winning as a team, our Minor PeeWee Lakers are picking up where they left off last season... Determined to win!
Our first exhibition game against the 09/10 Alliance Champions, London Jr. Knights, proved that our players are closing the gap on the larger centres. A 3-2 loss against last year’s Champs was considered to be a new benchmark for our club. Our conditioning and desire to win had our team competing from start to finish.
XGame two had the strong Elgin Middlesex Chiefs team on our St. Marys home ice. With another quick start to our game our club found themselves up 3-0 early on. However, the Chiefs did not break. Scoring quickly in the later stages in the game forced our boys to regroup and salvage a 4-3 win. We were able to win and learn a very valuable lesson about effort and consistency.
XGame three against the visiting Guelph Jr. Storm was another successful effort by all our players. Our speed, clean outs and solid tending from both goalies proved to be too much for the Storm. Winning the game 4-1, the 99 Lakers dominated the game from start to finish and were rewarded with a convincing victory.
With three successful exhibitions games behind us and a clear understanding of our direction this season, our players and team staff are ready for game one of the regular season.
