2014's ready for Notre Dame!
With a trip to the University of Notre Dame upcoming, the 2014 Lakers continued their solid season picking up an 8 out of a possible 12 points through a difficult stretch of the season.

October ended with the Lakers on a homestand between Milverton and Stratford.  First up would be the Chatham Kent Cyclones and see the home town Lakers take care of business in a convincing 8-0 win.  Unfortunately they would follow this up with 4-1 loss to the Brantford 99ers, a team HPL has struggled to figure out this year.

November would open seeing the young Lakers up against two tough opponents from the West in London and Elgin Middlesex.  Game one of the weekend would see the Lakers jump out to a 3-0 lead against London only to fall behind 4-3 before scoring with less than 30 seconds left to salvage a 4-4 tie.  Laker Day saw the St. Mary's arena packed with Laker fans as all eight HPL teams took the ice.  for the 2014's, they would be up against a team they had not beaten in their young two year history, the Elgin Middlesex Canucks.  As expected when these two teams square off, a tight battle ensued through two scoreless periods before the Lakers would find the net midway through the 3rd to open the scoring.  They'd add an empty net goal on route to a hard fought and well deserved 2-0 win.

The final weekend of games before the trip to South Bend opened with a home 4-1 win over the Sarnia Sting and ended with another close battle with Brantford, a 2-2 tie.

The U11's have a weekend of practices before they pack their bags for Indiana to compete in the Notre Dame CCM Shootout in which they will face off against Indiana Elite, Chicago Phantoms, Vegas Jr Golden Knights, Fox Motors and Cleveland Barons Elite.
